An Introduction to the Guidelines of the Text Encoding Initiative

1. Installing the oXygen XML Editor

This course page is for the English Civil Wars project run by Dr Andrew Hopper and is where additional course materials and links to the talks will be placed. We will be using the oXygen XML Editor for the workshop. Please download and install this before the workshop.

To download and install the oXygen XML Editor go to https://www.oxygenxml.com/xml_editor/download_oxygenxml_editor.html and download the appropriate version (if in doubt, use the first one). There are installation instructions and minimum hardware requirements further down that webpage.

When you first run oXygen XML Editor (and you want to run that, not the 'oXygen XML Author' or 'Developer') it will prompt you for a license key. There is a trial license available for you to use oxygen.txt

Please copy and paste the text of that page into the box which pops up. If you have any difficulty with this the workshop tutor will assist you on the first day.

2. Timetable

This is a vague timetable that will be subject to changes depending on speed needed by participants.
